Since implementing FERO, our revenue has seen a remarkable increase of 57% compared to the previous month without it. That significant growth is a legit stat.

Meet Victus Emporium

Victus Emporium is a UK-based food wholesaler and distributor, supplying independent retailers with a carefully curated range of food products. Founded by George Hess, the business operates primarily through trade relationships, with its WooCommerce store representing a growing but still nascent slice of overall revenue. George runs a lean, fast-moving operation, and every decision has to earn its place.

The Challenge

For a business built on wholesale relationships and operational hustle, the online checkout was never front of mind. Online sales accounted for less than 5% of total revenue, and with warehouse management, staffing, and supplier relationships all competing for attention, optimising the digital purchase journey simply wasn't on the roadmap.

That changed when the question was put directly: how many customers are reaching your checkout and not completing? The honest answer was that nobody had looked closely enough to know.

"It's one of those things, it's quite a niche little bubble. How much difference can that make? Then the trial showed a 23% increase and it was like, well, that's got to be worth doing given the relative cost is quite low."

The Experiment

Victus Emporium partnered with FERO to run a controlled trial of FERO Smart Checkout on their WooCommerce store. The setup process was straightforward, the integration was described as non-invasive, and the trial ran without any disruption to the existing customer experience. No fanfare, no complexity, no complaints from customers about slowdowns or interface changes.

"The trial wasn't invasive on our company at all. It felt absolutely fine. And once we had that, getting it all set up in the plugin was really easy. FERO made it super clear and straightforward, you weren't pushy, and it just did what it said it would do."

An adaptive checkout engine that uses predictive AI to automatically adjust, showing the right design, layout, or payment option based on the shopper's behaviour. It integrates easily with ecommerce platforms and can be deployed in under 10 minutes.

The Results

FERO had indicated to expect around a 20% uplift in conversion. The test came in at 23%. For George, the precision of that prediction was as meaningful as the number itself. But the headline figure came when comparing the last full month before FERO to the first full month after going live: a 57% increase in revenue.

"You didn't oversell it, you didn't undersell it. It was just what it was. It's like, okay, well then I can trust what you're saying. And then the first full month with FERO, we saw a 57% increase in revenue. That is a legit stat."

Why It Worked

Part of what made the result credible was how invisible the experience felt. George caught a glimpse of FERO in action on a friend's mobile and noted that it made the site look more professional, but crucially, it didn't intrude. No flashing prompts, no aggressive nudges. Just subtle, data-driven signals guiding customers toward completing their purchase.

"The fact that I didn't really notice it means it's doing exactly what it needs to do. It's pushing you in the right direction. It's all subconscious, tracking data patterns, working in the background."

FERO also helped resolve an existing Apple Pay issue during onboarding, an unexpected bonus that added further confidence in the partnership.

Victus Emporium Checkout

More Than Just Performance

For George, the value of FERO goes beyond a single uplift figure. It's a signal of what's possible when the right tool is applied to the right problem. Victus Emporium is now expanding into homeware and a food-to-go service, and as the online channel grows, having a checkout that converts becomes increasingly important. George is already recommending FERO to others in his network.

"I would definitely recommend you guys. You've been really easy to work with, super professional, and you've shown the results. The results to money, it's an absolute no-brainer."

For a founder who measures everything against hard numbers, a 57% revenue jump in the first full month is the kind of result that speaks for itself.
